About Me
Welcome to my website! My name is Niloofar Fathi, and I have an
M.Sc. in Software Engineering.
I have knowledge and experience in both Software Security and
User Experience. My background is divided into two parts: First
part started after my bachelor’s degree, in which I worked in
Software Security for several years. The second part started
when I was working on my master’s thesis and the years
following, in which I worked on User Experience and Usability,
and this part has continued till now. During this, I researched
various topics in User Experience, conducted several lab
experiments, designed questionnaires, directed interviews,
analysis of UX data, and design/re-design several UIs. Moreover,
I also have valuable experiences in working on software design
and software development both individually and as a team member.
Currently, I am interested in working first on UI/UX design and
then on front-end programming. Although part of my previous
experience is on software security, I believe it helps me in
designing better user experiences by seeing the problem from the
two perspectives and striking a balance between them when they
are contradictory.

Fabulous

This is a project aimed at evaluating the user experience of a
self-improvement application named Fabulous. The project is
just started, and I am currently working on the project as a
member of the UX evaluation team, who are mostly in Canada.
Online Pizza
WebSite

The project is the website of an online pizza shop. People can
create their own pizza by the given ingredients, give a name
to it and order it. You can see some images and a demo of the
website by clicking on "View Photos" and "Website" buttons
above. This project is developed by HTML, Bootstrap,
JavaScript, and ReactJs.
Intelligent Panel

2014 - 2017
This project was started when I began to work on my master's
thesis and continued afterward. It consisted of two parts of
research and development. Our goal was to find a solution for
feature-rich applications, such as Photoshop and 3Ds Max, to
improve their user experience. The final solution was an
intelligent panel to predict the next command of users. I
designed a prediction algorithm capable of predicting by 89%
accurate according to a given dataset. I also conducted a
pilot lab study with 10 subjects and a final Lab study with 30
participants. The latter experiment had two-hours long
sessions including observation of user tasks, using the
think-aloud method, interviewing users, and a few
questionnaires. Our results showed an improvement in users'
performance and an increase in users' satisfaction, a decrease
in users’ cognitive load, and better feeling toward the new
application.

This project was aimed at creating a CMS, which was an
academic classified advertising website. The major part of the
project was designed and developed by me. I also created three
3D-characters demonstrating three main customers of the
website, the student, the professor, and the business person.

This project was about creating a new website for ImenPardaz
company, where I was working as an employee. I also designed
new cards, brochures, and other graphical products for the
company consistent with the theme of the new website. To see

Security Analysis of Provincal Networks

This project was about the security assessment of all of the
internal and external provincial networks, including their
websites. This project had two phases and took a year to
accomplish. I was the director of the project and I also
worked on security evaluation of the websites. During the
project, we evaluated the security of more than 30 provincial
sites around Isfahan province.
Security Analysis of Municipality Websites

This project was security assessment of all the websites of
Isfahan municipality, and I was a member of the security
evaluation team. We analyzed more than 20 websites and we
found a large number of vulnerabilities with different
severity, which would be reported along with the solutions to
eliminate the threats. I also designed a new report template
for the project that became as the report template of our
center. The municipality computer center was so pleased with
the projects that they defined several new projects to work
with us.
